About Me
Dalton is a fingerstyle/classical guitarist and music educator currently based out of the Sacramento area in California. Dalton earned his Bachelors of Music from SFSU (San Francisco State University), where he studied music education and classical guitar from Larry Ferrara. He earned his masters in NYC from MSM (Manhattan School of Music) studying under David Leisner. Dalton is currently the music director at Wheatland Union High School, where he teaches guitar, symphonic band, and choir.
Aside from Ferrara and Leisner, Dalton has received masterclasses from guitar greats such as Meng Su, Alvaro Pierri, Paul Galbraith, and Eduardo Fernandez.
Although classically trained, Dalton has experience playing many different genres including flamenco, pop, rock, folk, fingerstyle, and jazz guitar. Dalton currently focuses on fingerstyle guitar on his 2014 Francois R. Leonard guitar, where he utilizes standard tuning and altered tunings to create arrangements and original compositions.
